If you are looking for an easy, healthy, and delicious snack then look no further. This frozen fruit smoothie is ready in 4 minutes.

I developed this recipe when I didn’t have all of the ingredients for a smoothie recipe that I found. I am glad that I decided to improvise because I actually prefer this recipe now!
A FEW SIDE NOTES
I will be mentioning the exact ingredients that I use but the recipe for this smoothie is very adaptable. So I will also mention alternative ingredients that I have used in the past.
The smoothie including the oats and chia seeds is high in calories. We’re looking at about 600 calories all together. So you could even consume it as a meal.
But if you are thinking of having it as a snack and are a bit bothered by the high calorie count. You could omit the walnuts, oats, and chia seeds without compromising the flavour!

Also, if you aren’t too keen on the idea of a frozen fruit smoothie. You could use fresh fruit instead. I myself like the consistency of a frozen fruit smoothie. It adds to the feeling of a ‘treat’ to me. And a huge benefit of working with frozen fruit is that you won’t have to worry about it going off!
My last side note is that it’s advisable to have a good blender when you’re working with frozen fruit. That is if you don’t want your blender to give out after a little while.
We invested in a Nutri Ninja Auto-iQ Pro Complete blender set a few years back and we are really happy with it. Unfortunately the blender set we have seems to be unavailable now. Their Ninja Foodi Nutri Blender looks like a similar type of blender set and it has good reviews. I just wanted to give you that little tip in case you’re still looking for a good blender.
INGREDIENTS

The ingredients that you will need to make this frozen fruit smoothie are:
- Banana
- Frozen fruit
> berries (I often use raspberries and blackberries but I have used black forest fruit mix, strawberries, and blackberries before)
> mango (pineapple works very well as well) - Desiccated coconut (It is possible to substitute this with ground almond)
- Oats
- Chia seeds
- Oat milk (but I just use regular milk if I don’t have oat milk). My favourite oat milk brand is Oat-ly.
- Walnuts

A huge benefit of this recipe is that it’s so simple to make. The smoothie is finished in 4 minutes.
You will want to start with putting the walnuts in a bowl with boiled water for 3 minutes. This allows the walnuts to soak and become softer. When added to the smoothie, it will add a sense of creaminess to it.
Next, add the banana, frozen fruit, desiccated coconut, oats, chia seeds, oat milk and walnuts to the blender. Blend it for 1 minute.
There you have it. An easy, healthy, and delicious frozen fruit smoothie to satisfy your cravings. And more importantly, to get some of those daily vitamins in!
