Description
Vintage Idris Ginger Beer Stoneware Bottles. One of the two bottles has a vertical hairline crack (see close up picture). Height: 18 cm/7 inch. Width: 7 cm/2.5 inch.
Idris Co was founded in 1873 by Thomas Howell Williams in Camden Town, Londen. Thomas was so struck by the beauty of the Idris Mountains in Wales, that he changed his last name to Idris. Idris originally produced mineral water and later started to produce drinks such as: lemonade, soda water and ginger beer. The bottles are stamped with ‘Bourne Denby’ and ‘Stiff J Lambeth’. The bottle with ‘Bourne Denby’ on it has a hairline crack from the neck down (see picture).
