Discover my natural daily skincare routine for sensitive, normal skin. The products mentioned are available in the UK, natural, and mostly eco-friendly.

A few years ago I started switching my self care products with natural and often more eco-friendly alternatives. The event that caused me to do that is mentioned in one of my first blog posts. Read about it here.
But I tell you this friends… it was so incredibly overwhelming. Not only did I hope to find natural and eco-friendly products. So ideally not in plastic packaging. They also needed to work for my incredibly sensitive skin.
On top of that, I had no idea where to start. I’m sure that you, if you are only just starting on your natural self care journey, have the urge too to just throw everything in the bin and to start anew. I completely understand that but often that just doesn’t work. Timewise, moneywise, and… skin wise.
Yes, you heard that right. If you use a lot of new skincare products in one go, your skin may play up. And because you’ve started using so many new products, you won’t know which one in specific is causing it. So take your time to do your research and take those steps bit by bit. Every person is unique and it’s so important to listen to your body to see what does and doesn’t work for you!
The cool thing is… if you are reading this then that means that you already are doing your research. I have been sharing product reviews because I want to make this journey easier for you. I want to share with you which products have really worked for me and are at the same time affordable. From woman to woman. Shared knowledge is power.
Because it would be great if we had all the money in the world and could buy all of the things. But that’s usually not the case. You’re very likely to have a budget and a family to think of.
And why spend more when you can get really effective products for less? So if you want to find my favourite natural shampoo, deodorant, or even laundry detergent. Make sure to check the natural home section of the blog.
IDENTIFY YOUR SKIN TYPE

This is a skincare routine that works for my normal, sensitive skin. I think that it is so important to emphasize that because the needs of oily or dry skin are very different. I know that it is tempting to ignore your skin type. You may not even know your skin type. But acknowledging your skin type and adjusting your skincare routine accordingly will be a crucial step to improving your skin.
I used to be completely oblivious to my skin type until 5 years ago. Yes I noticed that my skin would experience a ‘pulling’ or burning sensation with certain products and that my skin reacted very strongly when I scratched it. But I never pulled any conclusions out of it or identified whether I had dry, normal, or oily skin.
Once I realised what my skin type was, it still took me 2 years before I actually slowly started to adjust my skincare accordingly. I still didn’t think it would make such a difference. Well, was I wrong.
Once I started to adjust my skincare according to my skin type, my skin started to improve immensely. And it has improved even more since using natural products.

MY SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR SENSITIVE (NORMAL) SKIN
I have used this skincare routine for months now and it works so well for me. I finally feel like my skincare routine is ‘complete’. With that I mean that I have finally found those natural skincare products that work for me with my daily skincare routine. Each step has been accounted for.
Before I head into the specific products, I want to share the tool that I use to make sure that I apply the skincare products in the right order. Because once again. I’m afraid that I until recently had no idea in what order I was meant to apply products and this graph really helped me! Visit the Hello Glow article to find more explanation about the individual steps.

I recently posted a blog post in which I share my three favourite sources for natural self care inspiration. Have a look here if you want to find out more!
Please do remember with my skincare routine that I am not a professional. I have done as much research as I can and I have tested this routine for multiple months before I sharing it with you. It works really well for me but if your skin starts to play up or has severe issues you may want to speak with a professional for guidance.
I believe that God created us in an amazing way and that less is more. My intention is to keep my skincare routine simple and minimal. After all, some of the best skins that I’ve seen are of those who actually have never really worn make up and haven’t messed around with their skin much (you know who you are!).
CLEANSE

AM – I rinse my face with cold water. I dab my face dry with a towel after.
PM – I cleanse my face with a Chamomile Cleansing Balm and rinse it with a muslin cloth after. I dab my face dry with a towel after. On the days that I wear make up (usually just mascara), I make sure to do a double cleanse to really make sure to remove any traces of make up. I am a huge fan of this cleansing balm by Bee Happy Hive and I am planning to write a review about it sometime soon.
TONE

AM & PM – I spritz my face with rosewater toner. It’s a very simple two-ingredient toner that I make at home. All you will need is 20 grams of dried rosebuds and boiled water. I buy my rosebuds on Amazon and I use a 100 ml spray bottle. Visit this blog post to find more details about where I buy my glassware for homemade skincare and visit this blog post to find out how to make the toner.
EYE CREAM

AM & PM – I apply my eye cream by Antipodes when my skin is still slightly damp from the toner. In the mornings I apply it underneath my eye and above my eye. In the evenings I only apply it under my eyes. I once read this tip to only apply it under the eyes before bed to avoid puffy eyes in the morning.
The eye cream is quite expensive (I bought it when it was on sale) and is the newest addition to my skincare regime. It’s been great thus far but if you prefer to buy a cheaper eye cream, Beauty Kitchen has an eye cream (or serum) that I’ve used for years and has been really great.
MOISTURISE

AM & PM – To moisturise my face I like to use organic jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is a great face oil for normal/combination skin. I currently haven’t added essential oils to it yet but I might do it sometime. If you are interested in creating your own face oil, this is a brilliant article which discusses the different oils and essential oils that suit different skin types. Again I like to dab it on my face and neck when my skin is still a bit damp from the toner! I don’t need a lot. Only around 4 drops for my face and 3 drops for my neck.
PROTECT

AM – Most mornings, I make sure to apply SPF 30 sunscreen to my face and neck. The sunscreen that I use is from the brand Badger. I am still unsure whether to apply it every day (there are different opinions about it on the internet) or only when I am heading out for longer periods of time. But I am becoming a lot more regular in it!
This is a great ‘safe’ sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my skin and doesn’t leave a white sheen. I make sure to put it on the back of my hand and to rub it out a bit before applying it. It does tend to leave my skin slightly shiny. So I make sure to rub it in further after about 10 minutes to remove the shiny sheen.
There you have it, my natural skincare routine for sensitive, normal skin. Please keep in mind that this doesn’t include my weekly skincare (face mask and face scrub). I might discuss that further in a different post! I hope it will help anyone who struggles to find natural products that suit their skin type. Do leave a message if you have any tips or further recommendations š
Much love,
Jenna
